Spain is one of the best known destinations in Europe when it comes to a heading to a country that offers a balanced mix of sun, sand, sea, culture, food and history. Whatever you are looking for from your visit whether that be a beach holiday or a city break, Spain really does have it all.

If you are looking to catch some sun this summer head east off the mainland to the Balearic Islands where you’ll find the ever popular Mallorca and Menorca. You’ll also find Ibiza here but it’s not all about the super clubs through the summer season – the north coast of Ibiza is stunning and certainly shouldn’t be overlooked. If staying on the mainland of Spain then sticking to the north eastern region of Catalonia or the south eastern Valencia on the Balearic coast will give you plenty of great options with the likes of Barcelona, Valencia and Alicante all popular options. To the South of Spain you’ll find the region of Andalusia where you’ll discover the beauty of Marbella and Malaga with their combination of stretching beaches and harbours.

If city breaks are more your thing, Spain has many great options available to you. The capital city of Madrid in the heart of Spain is a popular choice however the top destination tends to be Barcelona on the east coast due to its great mix of beaches and historic architecture – a fantastic destination for any Gaudi enthusiasts. Beyond these you should also be considering the likes of Bilbao to the north and Seville, Malaga and Murcia to the south, all of which are great destinations for a few days away.
