Exploring The Famous Alamo Square & The Painted Ladies In San Francisco

San Francisco offers many attractions for tourists including the likes of Alcatraz Island, the Golden Gate Bridge and Pier 39. Some might even say that the famous hills are a tourist attraction however mark my words, the novelty of those hills wears off after about 10 minutes in the soaring Californian heat!

One of the top and most popular attractions in the city however is Alamo Square which is home to the widely recognised “painted ladies”.

The painted ladies are a series of houses that are set to one side of Alamo Park. They have featured during scene changes and as the backdrop in a long list of famous Hollywood films including one of the most well known films featuring Robin Williams, Mrs Doubtfire.

The houses pull in the tourists not only because they feature in films but also because of their architecture and design which offers something attractive and unique in the square.
