Here at Ambition Earth we have been touring around western Canada and recently made the road trip from Jasper in Alberta to Vancouver in British Columbia. This drive is around 900km so to break up the journey we made a 1 night stop at the Fairfield Inn & Suites.
Within the reception area of the hotel it lets you know a little about its history.
Checking in
Checking in at reception took no time at all. We received a very warm welcome, were informed about the facilities and were given our room key.
Double room with Kingsize bed
We booked a double room with a king size bed and the room was extremely spacious, certainly more than enough for 2 people. The bed was very comfy and the carpets clean without the dust patches in the corners that you often find in hotels.
Bathroom
Much like the bedroom the bathroom was a generous size, clean and really modern.
In-room facilities
Within the room you are given a suitcase area (left), TV, desk and Ethernet connection point for faster internet, certainly not something we’ve seen in any other hotel rooms.
There’s the usual assortment of coffee facilities but not only that, uniquely the room has a microwave.
Swimming pool and hot tub
On the ground floor the hotel offers a swimming pool and hot tub with changing facilities provided.
Gym
There’s also the standard hotel gym which has everything you need for a quick morning workout.
Breakfast
Included in our stay was a breakfast which is a buffet. Here you get a selection of scrambled eggs, omelette, waffles, cereals, toast and bagels. It wasn’t the best buffet we’ve ever had but more than adequate to give your morning a kick start.
Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites Kamloops review
Overall our stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites was a positive one. The staff were friendly, the room was very spacious and modern and the price was certainly more than reasonable. Our only criticism is that the room we stayed in didn’t have a safe which was something we weren’t impressed with; as a regular hotel guest a safe in the room is as expected as a bed(!)
That said if like us you are travelling from Jasper to Vancouver and are planning a 1 night stay in Kamloops we would absolutely recommend that you take a look at this Marriott hotel. The location is absolutely perfect.
