Canadian Tour 2017: Day 14 – Vancouver

So it has finally arrived, our 14th and final day in Canada. Having spent 2 weeks exploring everywhere from Calgary to Vancouver it’s sad to think that today is our final day in this incredible country.

Having explored the majority of the city over the past 4 days we decided that we would take things at a bit of a slower pace today by revisiting some previously explored locations before going for a walk around Stanley Park.

But first, brunch!

We headed down to Gastown to see if we could find some good places for brunch and came across The Flying Pig which was superb. Located right in the heart of Gastown we got a good window seat just before the restaurant filled up for lunch. I had the halibut burger which was excellent.

Leaving Gastown behind us we made our way towards Stanley Park via Canada Place and the Olympic Cauldron which was surprisingly scare of people!

We then made the short walk around the marina and grabbed an ice cream along the way.

With the marina behind us we finally got to the edge of Stanley Park where we bought some water from the kiosk by the rowing club and headed into the park where we quickly spotted a lot of the local wildlife!

As we passed a short way into the park we spotted some raccoons in the bushes which soon emerged right out onto the path, amazing!

The next stop on our trail through the park was Beaver Lake however this was a really disappointing experience! The lake was completely full of reeds and plants so wasn’t something that we could really look at – I’m sure the wildlife love it but to a mere tourist it really wasn’t anything special!

From Beaver Lake we then walked down to the Lost Lagoon which was far more impressive.

The final stop of the day was to English Bay beach where we watched some volleyball and looked at the various sculptures around the area.

And that was it. Vancouver done, Canada done. We’ve had an absolutely amazing time in Canada and Vancouver has shot right to the top of my list of favourite cities in the world. It won’t be long until I return!
